Packing List

Here’s what we are taking. It all just fits.

Simon – 30l pack, 9kg fully loaded.

  • Shoes
    • Trainers (good enough for long hikes)
    • Sandles (as if we don’t already look like tourists)
  • Clothing
    • 4 Pairs of light socks  & 1 pair thick socks
    • 4 Pairs of quick drying jocks
    • 1 Thermal top and bottom
    • 2 x  T-shirts (lightweight & quick drying)
    • 2 x Zip-off longs (lightweight & quick drying). Double as a costume
    • 1 x Long sleeve shirt (lightweight & quick drying) – for dressing up
    • Thickish fleece
    • Rain jacket
    • Beanie
  • Electronics
    • iPhone
    • Chargers
    • Digital camera (Nikon S710)
    • Headtorch
    • USB flash drive (for important docs+photo backups etc)
  • Body wallet
  • Money belt
  • Toiletries (soap toothbrush, toothpaste and a brush is all I need)
  • Meds – from antibiotics to the all essential immodium

V – 35l pack, 8kg fully loaded.

Ditto+

  • Extra pair of zip off longs
  • Bikini
  • Contact lenses+solution+glasses
  • Extra fleece (cos I’m a chick  and feel the cold more than Sim – thicker fleece is getting tossed once we hit warmer climate)
  • Girly necessities (really sucks to be a girl sometimes)
  • Sony PRS505 ebook reader
  • Extra toiletries cos I’m a girl and need things like shampoo

See thats why I needed another backpack…to fit all this extra stuff in!

This is everything we are taking.  The idea being that everything needs to be able to fit INSIDE the backpack. In Scandinavia it will be easier cos we’ll be wearing a chunk of stuff, but when we get to SE Asia, the layers come off…so more stuff need to be packed away.

So this is all the stuff we are taking (excluding the laptop on the right):

Before

And it fits into these:

After

Ok, so I need a bit more practice at getting everything in – V-
