If it is anything like keeping a diary, I&#8217;m in trouble. Setting it all up, which is still ongoing, has been\u00a0heaps of fun with all due credit to;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/\">WordPress<\/a> &#8211; My first test blog took about a minute to setup with\u00a0this impressive free app (after about 2 hours getting MySQL and PHP to play nicely with IIS). Plugins, themes, posting via email and iPhone app&#8230; the list goes on forever.\u00a0It&#8217;s just awesome (like a hot-dog).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mysql.com\/\">MySQL<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/php.net\/index.php\">PHP<\/a>&#8211; First time I&#8217;ve used them but once I overcame the initial fear of being far, far away from MicroSoftLand they have impressed.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/wordpress-geo-mashup\/\">Geo Mashup<\/a>&#8211; The most incredible <em>WordPress <\/em>location plugin around. Lots of fun to figure out but works out of the box. Seems to be giving some trouble with Internet Explorer. Most other browsers seem fine.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/extend\/plugins\/nextgen-gallery\/\">NextGEN Gallery<\/a> &#8211; The most popular gallery plugin for <em>WordPress<\/em>.\u00a0Haven&#8217;t played with it yet but it looks great.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/extend\/themes\/plainscape\">Plainscape<\/a> &#8211; A clean and tidy <em>WordPress<\/em> theme that gave me a good place to start.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/intl\/en_us\/latitude\/intro.html\">Google Latitude<\/a> &#8211; simple location updates form my phone or any browser.\u00a0Set\u00a0to &#8216;city&#8217; level, thereby foiling those pesky stalkers.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/apis\/maps\/\">Google Maps API <\/a>&#8211; requried with <em>Geo Mashup<\/em>. What can\u00a0I say&#8230;. <em>Google<\/em> is King !<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pixopoint.com\/pixopoint-menu\/\">PixoPoint Menu <\/a> for\u00a0snazzy css dropdown menus<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stimuli.ca\/lightbox\/\">Lightbox 2<\/a> to spice up the gallery<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crystaltech.com\/\">Crystal Tech Web Hosting <\/a>&#8211; When it comes to hosting, you get what you pay for (surprisingly this applies to tech\u00a0support too).<\/li>\n<li>My <strong>Amazing-V<\/strong>. For not laughing too much when I spent 3 hours adding a shadow to the &#8216;tick&#8217; geo marker for the planning section !<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Without these our adventure would have been recorded with a boring series of CC&#8217;d emails or a Twitter\/FaceBook feed.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you &#8211; you know who you are.. I would assume.<\/p>\n<h3>Some odd notes about the blog<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Oldest post is at the bottom of the page. Doh.<\/li>\n<li>Pictures get bigger when you click on them. No kidding.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ll try to update the &#8220;Last know location&#8221; widget as often as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Anyone is welcome to comment&#8230; but I&#8217;ll have to approve your first comment, so we need that email address.<\/li>\n<li>Pins on the map show the location of posts on the current page.
